This is a Christmastime family favorite....
PRIZE WINNING FUDGE
1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate chips
3 (4 oz) bars sweet cooking chocolate
1 (7 oz) jar marshmellow cream (about 2 c)
4 1/2 c sugar
1/8 tsp salt
2 Tblsp butter or margarine
1 (14 1/2 oz) can evaporated milk (1 2/3 c)
2 c chopped walnuts (optional)
Put choc. chips, cooking choc. and marshmellow cream in bowl.
Combine sugar, salt, butter and evaporated milk in 3 qt. heavy saucepan.
Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Boil steadily over med. heat 6 minutes (keep boiling all the time).
Stir constantly to prevent scorching.
Pour boiling syrup over choc. and marshmellow cream in bowl.
Beat until choc. is melted.
Stir in walnuts.
Pour into lightly butterd 13x9x2 inch pan.
Let cool until firm.
Store in cool place.
Makes about 5 pounds.
