It's me SurfinSandy. I was in the other group too, just didn't post alot. Group participation for me is sporadic...just so many hobbies to keep up with.

Looking forward to finally get in on the action here too.

    Ok,

I thought I better do this, I have been posting, but had skipped this.  Well my name is Jeri, I have three kids, 17,15, 2 1/2.  We are in the military and are located in CO.  I can't collect a whole lot of stuff, but I am trying.  I have made many bowling balls, and finally got to keep the last one I made.  I will get pictures, when I can.  They are spread all the way to Minn..  I am working on totems now.  I love this site and how wonderful everyone is here.  I cannot wait to see the next projects everyone posts.

Re: Newbies, Come here and introduce yourselves..

I used to be a "mostly-lurker" on the old forum but hadn't been around for awhile.  I was msbobolink in those days and I think the only "junk" I posted was a test tube sun catcher, that I found in the album, so that's cool that it's still around.

I'm a total junker and my hubby has resigned himself to the fact that the junk pile is destined to grow, but that at the right moment for the right project I'll go raid the pile and find that piece I've been saving.  As a matter of fact, he's gotten really involved with my latest project, which is good since I couldn't do it by myself.  If I could just keep him and his weedwacker out of the flower beds now!!!

I can't wait to have the time to catch up on what's going on here and see the new creations....the talent here is awesome.

HI, I'm Marilyn. I live in the Florida panhandle in a little community called Crawfordville, Florida.  I work in Tallahassee, Florida.  That is a 45 minute drive to and from work each day.  I love all kinds of crafting.  I live on about 4 acres and a good part of it is a fresh water spring swamp.  We have all kinds of creatures in our yard.  I love to work in my garden and have a dear friend who live up the street who loves gardening too, so we swap plants back and forth.  When I buy a plant, I buy two, one for me and one for her.  She does the same thing.  I have three grown sons and nine grandsons.  No girls in this family   Sad  None of my sons or grandsons live near me, so I get to travel to go see them.  I have 4 grandsons that live near Tampa, so I drive back and forth there a lot.  I am just beginning to start painting gourds and making bird houses.   I look forward to see how they do. I look forward to making friends in this site and getting a lot of ideas.

Hi my name is ahmine.  I just love gardening and when I can making decorative items for the garden. In the fall I like to decorate pumpkins with paint rather than carving.  It provides me with a small temporary income when pumpkins are in season.  I plan to try making a rain stick from a snake gourd It promises to be quite an undertaking.

Hey ya'll!  We are Bob and Mary  from Screven, GA.  Bob retired from the Navy 22 years ago and we moved here to SE GA.  We hve 4 acres of woods behind our house that we bought so that nobody else would, and we are in the process of filling it up with folk art.  We have a concrete castle in progress, numerous concrete and mosaic items, all sorts of things hanging from the trees  (One is a teapot and teacup tree, another is filled with kitchen utensils....all painted in bright colors.  We have quite a collection of satellite dishes...small, medium and large.  We have a fire pit where we have weenie roasts for family and church groups.  We mosaic furniture, satellite dishes, bowling balls, etc.  Our fences are decorated with dozens of brightly painted hubcaps.  We have 4 children, all grown, and 7 grandchildren...we hide from them out here in the woods!  LOL   We collect good junk and make other good stuff out of it.   Other people save their junk for us.  Big Bob does a lot of mosaic work with mirrors....jets probably use our place as a landmark in the sun.   Most people who come out here love our weird stuff.....those who ask, "Why'd you hang that stuff in them trees?"  we don't pay much attention to them.  We're unable to post pictures at this time...maybe later.
